My cat did enjoy it

My cat did enjoy it. But I’m sure she’d give five stars if I gave her a gravy version!!

Blink subscription now cancelled after 2.5 years

We've been loyal Blink customers for nearly two and a half years, but unfortunately, we won’t be continuing with them. Despite an email reassuring customers that the only change was a factory move and a “small tweak” — the addition of tapioca — and that “nothing would change for you or your little one,” the reality has been very different. As other reviews have noted, production has moved from the UK to Thailand, and the food now looks completely different and frankly unappetising. Worse still, both of my cats have experienced vomiting and diarrhoea since the change. I've also noticed the packaging no longer says "Human Grade Fillets" or "Our meat is responsibly sourced and we make sure to add in only the best bits to our pouches" which was present on the packaging previously. There was no advance notice to allow for a gradual transition to what is clearly a new recipe. I’m incredibly disappointed that Blink has placed such a low priority on the wellbeing of the animals they cater to. In contrast, the dog food brand I use has always provided clear, timely communication when recipes change — allowing for a proper transition period. While I can’t say for certain that a gradual transition would have prevented this reaction, it’s heartbreaking to see my cats suffer because of a change that wasn’t clearly communicated. They deserved better care and consideration and now have a new food that doesn't make them ill.

I've lost all trust in Blink

I have been a subscriber of Blink for just under a year, to begin with everything was excellent - the quality/choice of the recipes, the dispatch/delivery time and the correct recipes arriving. Sadly, over time things have gone downhill, from recipes changing, getting discontinued or temporarily unavailable, to getting sent the wrong recipes. A couple of months ago I was sent 22-ish pouches of turkey in jelly kitten food (my subscription is entirely adult food) then in the subscription for July x4 pouches of chicken in jelly kitten food were included with the pouches of the chicken in jelly adult cat food. Previously, when your payment method was charged, your order was dispatched that same day. However, now it seems that your payment method is charged and the box ships the day after. My previous subscription wasn't shipped for almost a week after it should have done (which has more detail in a previous review) I chose Blink because they included 100% human grade meat in all of their recipes, broth and added vitamins/minerals - simple, clear and high quality nutrition for cats in comparison to many other retail brands. Although the cost was high (£105 for 112 pouches) it was worth it for the health of my 2 cats. Now, they only include 65% human grade meat and they have added in tapioca as a filler. After doing research it appears that tapioca is not toxic to cats and can be a safe ingredient in low amounts. However, it does not appear to have any nutritional benefit for cats. Therefore, I cannot fathom why this has been added in, along with reducing the meat content. I've also noticed that the new and 'improved' packaging no longer states that the product is made in Britain, it no longer includes the ingredients list on the back (you have to search for it on the Blink website) and the statement 'Grain Free' now has an asterisk next to it, which informs you that the product is made in a factory that handles grains, so if your cat cannot have grains at all, there is a risk of cross contamination. The packaging is no longer recyclable as stated on the pouch. After reading a previous review from another subscriber Blink have emailed them in response to an enquiry they made "and happily state that instead of being made in the UK with UK meat Blink cat food is now produced solely in Thailand." All of these changes which seemingly appear to only be a financial gain/cost saving benefit for Blink with absolutely NO CONSIDERATION for the cats on the receiving end of the food they are producing and supplying. Interesting how there has been no change to the monthly subscription cost - £105 every 4 weeks for lower quality meat, anxiety around when your order will ship and what you'll receive, along with no longer being a UK produced product?? No thank you! Safe to say, as of today my subscription is cancelled and I am switching to a different cat food manufacturer. I will never use Blink again, nor do I recommend them.

Incredibly poor value for money

My wife bought the fish fillets selection cost £8.70 for 8 packets. The six made with Salmon my cat treats as though they are poison. The two made from tuna have been happily devoured. However at £4.35 per packet it is much cheaper to buy a 4 pack of tuna in spring water cost £2.50 an equivalent cost of 36p per portion. I contacted the company and they could easily have taken action to avoid this review.

My cats used to love Blink cat food, not since production moved to Thailand.

My cats used to love Blink cat food. Unfortunately, since the latest delivery they won't go near it. I contacted Blink who emailed me and happily state that instead of being made in the UK with UK meat Blink cat food is now produced solely in Thailand. We now have to look for anouther UK maufacturer, because I prefer the cats to eat responsibly farmed meat (Thailand has predominantly battery farmed poultry) and food that hasn't had to be shipped around the world.

Just another company happy to increase profits at expense of kitties

Been with Blink for a while. They're all cutesy and stuff and despite having issues with a delivery not showing up, I stuck through because it seemed good enough for an okay price. I have since cancelled because they have changed recipes and production methods, choosing to move overseas for production, and since then my cat has been vomiting and having diarrhoea. She is an indoor cat and vet agreed this could be the reason. When Blink changed the recipes and moved productions abroad, they also chose to remove ingredients from the back of the pack as well as the "grain free" and other important messages at the front, replacing them with vague abstract "made for cats". When I reached out to customer service for details on the new recipes, they said the ingredients would be listed on the website. The website still shows the old packs and so I have no idea what is going into this food, and have lost total trust in Blink. I will be changing cat food to a company who actually cares about the cats on the receiving end rather than prioritising gross revenue and increasing profit lines by cutting costs and corners wherever possible.

My cats loved this cat food

My cats loved this cat food, they were extremely obsessed with the salmon and chicken variety. My cats can be fussy so a brand that all 4 of them would eat is a massive shock and bonus for me. I love how it has added vitamins and minerals to help with their skin and coat. A bonus for my little babies.

Changed Recipes due to production moving from UK to EU

Was great at first but now the cat food is no longer manufactured in the UK as they have moved production to the EU and changed the recipes. Last subscription with the new pouches and the consistency is gelatinous and both our cats won't eat it. Previously it would have be 5 stars but now just 1.

Delicious!

I received 2 packs of this cat food in my tryit box and my cat loved it! She is picky with wet food however as soon as I opened the pack she was interested! It’s greatly packaged, good for cats and the taste seems to be great according to my cat!

Poor for the money

everytime it comes to monthly delivery i get email that there is no stock of turkey or beef flavours or tuna. Very poor stock for the money. Then the food is delivered to totally wrong street . Cancelled subscription as didnt feel as a valued customer at all. Cats likes jelly versions not the gravy ones that looked like sick, I liked that its at least 65% meat but didnt notice much difference in coat/behaviour or toilet habits

Added Tapioca - no longer suitable

Unfortunately we've had to cancel our subscription following the recent recipe changes. As noted in one of the previous reviews, the consistency has changed for the worse and we also noticed the food has a much stronger smell than it did (particularly the turkey and chicken & salmon flavours) Our cat has a sensitive stomach, after much investigation we've found that she's intolerant of tapioca / tapioca starch - exactly what's been added to Blink! The end result is that the food gets regurgitated within seconds of eating it or simply left untouched in the bowl. Also worth mentioning the sourcing / stock issues recently, the number of times certain flavours were out of stock seemed to be increasing monthly. Why did they have to change it? 🙄
