Review summary
Beal's Estate Agents is exceptionally well-rated by customers. Customers particularly appreciate service and professional, though some mention concerns about communication and poor quality.
Natalia has been so helpful in finding a perfect home for my husband and I that ticks all our boxes. She is always quick to respond to any questions we have, and has been very approachable and kind. We are very thankful.
Simon helped us find our ideal flat. From start to finish he was friendly and 100% professional. He guided us through the paperwork and made the whole process stress free. We would highly recommend Simon and Beal's.

As usual great teamwork by Oliver, Hannah & Jay
Very professional , experienced and informative,
I only use Beals for letting my properties , am very pleased with their services.
Simon has been the agent helping me with finding the ideal property for me and my daughter for the past two weeks. He understood immediately what i like and made sure he showed me only places that would suit our needs. Once we secured a property, we faced some challenges with the process and he went above and beyond my expectations. I never imagined someone being so kind and helpful !!! If i was to find a property again, I would definitely ask for Simon again!!
Me and my partner had viewed a few properties to rent with Havant branch.
We are now renting the one we loved the most to be a home for ourselves and our baby. Havant branch have been amazing to us but in particular Ellie. Lovely lady who gave all her help to us.
Had a really positive experience working with Beals to find a property for myself and my son. Ben was really professional and reassuring when it came to obstacles we had to overcome. Would recommend Beals to anyone looking to rent a property!
I had a brilliant experience in using beals. I had a faulty tap at one of my properties and they were really quick and professional in getting it sorted. In particular one of the staff called Dion was really helpful and professional in getting the contractors in to come and sort the problem. She got it sorted in a really good time scale and I was really happy with the final product. Will definitely be using beals again.
We are a small suicide prevention charity called Ripple. We recently staged a charity football match to raise vital funds to help keep us going. It was a tremendous success and that is mainly down to Grace at Beals. She was amazing from start to finish. She helped with much of the arranging, the marketing, produced our advertising banners, promoted us on social media, and not only did Beals sponsor us, but also kindly donated money raised from their own fundraising events to our charity. Grace kept us updated every step of the way and went above and beyond many times. I cant remember the last time I received customer service as good as this. If I could give her a 6 star review I would. Ian
Called head office and spoke to a lovely lady named Grace.
She could not have been more helpful in dealing with my enquiry.
Made me feel at ease that any issues I may have in the future will be resolved.
Great working with the Beals Shirley office. We let our flat through their lettings team and eventually sold it through them. Fantastic service and a big thankyou to Dan, Ollie, Adrian and Mohammed and the rest of the team. Thanks guys!
I lived in a property let by Beals from April 2021 until July 2022, from the outset and during this period I had several problems with the property, the oven wasn't working properly to begin with and I could only use the hobs, neither was the shower (it was leaking from the box), the plug sockets in the bedroom and kitchen didn't work and the window in the living room didn't lock shut properly. To say the least, from the start, trying to get these repairs carried out was like trying to get blood out of a stone, I was leaving emails, ringing the branch and then head office when eventually informed I had to go through them. The window was repaired, however that was short lived because just after the work men left I noticed a massive crack in the window branching away from the handle. It was to be just over year before they eventually came and changed the glass in June 2022. The oven was repaired but broke a few months later, that never got repaired. The plug sockets were eventually looked at when the window glass was repaired in June 2022, they were found to be disconnected from the main power source, however they were not fixed by the time I left. The shower was finally repaired just after I handed in my notice to vacate at the end of June 2022. On top of all that the bathroom sink broke in March 2022 (the drain pipe deteriorated where it joined to the plug hole and broke away completely). This wasn't repaired until June 2022. Throughout this whole period I was chasing up when the repairs would be made and all I would get was "I'm so sorry this hasn't been dealt with sooner, I will leave a note for the maintenance team and they will get back to you". During my tenancy I had two periodic inspections where I was present and made the repairs known and was told the same thing. Also whilst I'm on that I was quite alarmed to get a call one day out of the blue saying "is your partner* not at home?", (*name removed for security purposes) when I said "no she's at work today, why?" , they said oh not to worry it's because one of my colleagues was going to do an inspection and we didn't have a key to the property. It wasn't until afterwards I found that more and more strange A: because they knew I wasn't home and B: because they were asking why she wasn't home. So as far as I can tell, it feel like somebody had physically gone to the property to attempt to visit, I had received no prior notification of an inspection and I never had any complaints or missed payments. I certainly feel that if they had a key at that time then they would have entered the property. The only reason they didn't have a key is when I first moved in the front door lock kept jamming so it was replaced by their maintenance team, the worker said he would take the key to the office to save me doing it. As he was bought in by Beals and he said he was on his way there I thought that made sense. However it transpired they never received the spare key. Eventually after the phone call I gave them a key. Finally, I am currently awaiting my deposit, from what I was told when I handed the keys back on 25th of July, the new tenant should've been in there almost 4 days (from 1st August) and I have heard absolutely nothing since I was told on 25th my tenancy would finish on 31st July, So I rang head office and it turns out the final inspection was carried out on the 30th July and apparently it turns out the report has been sent to the wrong email address..... One last bit of incompetency from Beals perhaps? All in all my time in a Beals property had been nothing short of stressful and irritating and I will avoid them at all costs in future. *update* I have now received a call from Beals and they have contacted the landlord who is currently carrying out repairs to the property and my tenancy is now due to finish on the 7th August with the new tenant moving in on the 8th. I have been told I am due to receive my deposit in full plus 1 days rent.
Excellent service from Leah, Ollie & Kelsey at the Park Gate Beal's office - the whole process from enquiry to moving in was quick, easy and smooth. Would recommend! Thanks very much to you all for your help!
The team at Bitterne have been absolutely amazing.

very detailed in all communications . excellent work , thank you
A never-ending litany of laziness and possible discrimination...
Had multiple poor experiences with Beals over the last several months...
Three times had viewings booked for Saturday, only to get a call Friday afternoon or Saturday morning and the property has sold - no attempt from them to actually do their job and try to get the best price for their customer - they just fob you off last-minute and on to the next one. Then, when you're the buyer in a position to do a viewing and make an offer ASAP they suddenly "can't get you in" during the week (they lost their seller a sale above asking price on one occasion recently due to this attitude - I viewed it during the open day anyway, but by then was too annoyed to make an offer as I'd been told to 'go whistle' a week earlier despite being ready to go). Very disappointing and a bit suspicious that they'll get locals in during the week for viewings, but won't do the same for you if you're not from the area. And if, heaven-forbid, you have a full time job and can only view on Saturday, don't expect them to give a toss!
Had several occasions where they've left a property on Rightmove for days or even weeks listed as "for sale" when in fact it's sold. They never apologise for it when you call and get told it's gone already. I think they do this on purpose because there aren't many properties coming up and they want their name showing up in your search results, so they leave them even though it's inconsiderate. You call them, they take your data etc.
If you're a buyer, don't count on them to communicate effectively or lift a fingernail. If you're not from the area, expect the 'Cornwall treatment' - where they don't want people coming in from other parts of the country and buying up homes - you get a lesser service as a result. They'll deny it, but that's the simplest way to explain all the issues we've had with them.
If you're a seller, don't expect them to do everything they can to achieve the best possible price for your property by following up all credible sales leads (e.g. an offer is made during the week, but there are buyers in a proceedable position with a large budget booked for a viewing on Saturday, yet they won't bother to call them and offer them the opportunity to view earlier or make an offer).
They'll argue they're just doing what their customer wants, but buyers are customers too (not that they'll treat you like one) and I doubt the majority of their customers would be happy about them taking liberties with potential buyers on their behalf, unless they just want a quick sale.
At the moment, sitting on their hands doing very little for their commission because the market is so strong right now and homes are selling themselves, but give it a year or so, the way the UK is going with inflation and the housing market will slump. Won't be able to be so lazy or selective then.
I'd avoid Beals from now on because personally I had much better experiences with some of the well-known online-only agents.
