I had to leave a lot of reserve money on the credit card because now I want to rent and I don't have a balance for that retention

I appear to have been charged twice for this rental as I have a £195 charge on my credit card from Sixt. This was only a 3 day rental what would cost and extra £195 pounds on top of the rental cost I only asked for tolls to be applied.

Very friendly staff who were happy to help.

Everything was ok, a little bit frustrated when insurance option selected was not possible due to « credit card ».

Die Anmietung erfolgte mit Vollkasko-Versicherung (Rückerstattung des Selbstbehalts). Weder die Rückerstattung des Selbstbehalts noch der Kaution erfolgte. Also bat ich zuerst telefonisch Argus Car Hire um Hilfe. Wie sich herausstellte, war ein Märchenerzähler am Telefon. Angeblich hatte er mit der Versicherung telefoniert und der Selbstbehalt sollte innerhalb von 8 Tagen erstattet werden. Auch um die Rückzahlung der Kaution wollte er sich kümmern. Als nach 3 Wochen nichts passiert war, versuchte ich es im Livechat. Die Mitarbeiterin beschäftigte mich eine Stunde mit sinnlosem Geplänkel, um mir dann die Telefonnummer von Payless Podgorica mitzuteilen und zu schreiben, ich solle mich selbst kümmern, da Argus Car Hire die Hände gebunden seien. Erst wird man an eine Betrügerfirma vermittelt und dann wird die Hilfe verweigert - weniger Service geht nicht mehr.

Do not use Argus for Glasgow airport car hire! They sent us to a company called Green Motion. The shuttle bus pick up point isn’t labelled and we trekked around the airport trying to find where to wait - it’s as described in the booking, once you get to the depot ift’ss a tiny unit in an industrial park that feels like a dodgy mot centre. You’re left in a dirty gutter with your bags (properly filthy, dead birds and vomit!) and then told you can’t have the car because (even tho you’ve already paid) they won’t take your current account bank card or Amex or the Visa card we also had - all of which had plenty of funds on them! We’ve had to trek back to the airport and are now hiring a car from a reputable dealer. TERRIBLE way to start a holiday. Haven’t been refunded - website says we won’t be refunded so currently £350 down in Glasgow airport with kids waiting to start a holiday and no clear way of being refunded. Edited: We had the exact documents requested and exact card requested. Argus car hire’s response below is ignoring this. Argus - i have submitted two complaint tickets through your booking manager system as advised by you via email. Neither have been acknowledged or responded to. Please let me know how to get a refund.

We had a small scrape on the car and despite this, the staff was kind, the process was smooth and I did not feel taken advantage of. The staff helped us get to our next destination.

🚨 SCAM 🚨 SCAM 🚨 SCAM ! To my mind criminal: Billiger-Mietwagen.de sells you the car rental, Argus plays the intermediary and the local rental company steals you 500 € from your Visa card, the amount you had to let them block, in case of damages… the same day you picked up the car. Billiger-Mietwagen.de and Argus know well about those many cases, still sell their Argus contracts. STAy AWAY, go to regular rental companies.

I booked a hire car through Argos car hire. They sold the contract to Green motion car hire corfu airport They asked me for my flight number so they could track the flight in case of delays to make sure that the car stayed available. The flight was delayed. They cancelled the car. They forced me to pay an additional 12 euro per day to re instate the contract.......I had no choice it was 21;00 and i had my children with me, the supermarkets were closing and i would have lost the original contracted amount. Its a scam to get us to pay more. They then refused the origional card that the booking was made with telling me that if I paid them an additional 170 euro they would be able to continue. These figures were plucked out of the air. I had no choice. Its all a scam. I want my money back, The new car was the same as the old car but they told me it cost more. Scam scam scam

Rien à redire, pas de temps d'attentes, prévoyez une carte de crédit si vous ne voulez pas payer l'assurance obligatoire.

Overall good experience

Malgré de l’attente pour recevoir l’auto. Nous avons été extrêmement satisfait de la propreté et de la qualité de l’auto. La procédure de retour était parfaite.

We were let down by OK Mobility (they closed the office at 10pm even though the website says 11pm) just because our flight was delayed. We were saved by Klasswagen (open 24 hours)

Do not use Argus car hire! You do not actually hire your car from them, they send to any other car hire company depending on the country you are visiting. Therefore when you have a query on charges added to your car hire invoice, they relinquish their responsibility and just tell you to ring the company you had your car from, which happened to be Spain for me, but once I got home! I had charges added to my credit card for a further insurance on the car hire (which I did not request or was informed of), after I had already taken out added insurance with Argus Car Hire! When Argus stated they could refund me my premium insurance with them, and I accepted. I was then told they would raise a claim, but not sure this would be approved! Please do not trust them!

j'ai loué une voiture pour l'Italie, le site dit qu'il faut une carte de crédit au nom du conducteur principal : en France, une carte de crédit est une carte bleue. En fait en Italie, il faut qu'il soit écrit "crédit" sur la carte bleue et nos cartes de crédit françaises sont marquées "débit". Du coup, la voiture que j'avais réservée et payée 211 euros m'a couté 252 euros en + puisqu'il fallait que je prenne une assurance supplémentaire. Cela ne m'avait jamais été mentionné dans le contrat d'argus car hire. Je trouve cela honteux et mensongé. Je ne recommande absolument ce site.
