..it's what we buy insurance for, do we not?

be sure to read all the pages and paragraphs cos on page 72.2 it cost me $1,800 (such was my claim) but in fact is was more The Aussie eta app wouldn't work, during the one hour window before the Gate closed: not op iPhone or Android would this app work, to get a $70 aussie visa for four hours. ...in Singapore I could not board the plane to Sydney and on to Christchurch. ..it's what we buy insurance for, do we not? I had to purchase new Air New Zealand plane tickets to get me home. Thank Christ for my priceless MasterCard. ... Don't buy their insurance.

Forget Loyalty

Been with 1 Cover for the past 25 years and never made a claim. When I informed them I was thinking of taking my business elsewhere, they said they'd offer me a discount. When I contacted One Cover they said "Unfortunately, I cannot see any noted pertaining to a discount offer on your account." 1 Cover, very good at taking your money, not very good at looking after loyal customers.

Absolute waste of time

Absolute waste of time, should be called 0COVER, had all the proof and spent alot of time on providing all the information necessary for them to find away or loop hole not to cover, absolute disgrace and will be taking it further , I don't recommend anyone use this company with confidence and the reviews back my statement up, shocking

One of the best travel insurance soo far I have delt with.

Recently travelled and had one cover as my travel insurance, got struck because of health issue and I lodged them claim, claim process was so smooth and the claims manager(Harshitha) was very understanding n helpful. She was emphatic throughout my process and dealt the process with high professionalism and compassion.

I always use 1Cover for my trips

1Cover was very easy to get cover for my trip to New Zealand, they have a simple claim process and explain in detail what can and can't be claimed along with tips for my travel. I have always used them and always will knowing they have my best interest in making sure I get home safely

I use 1cover all the time .My last…

I use 1cover all the time .My last experience was when I went on cruise .I was advised to take cruise cover .Luckily I did because the ship didn't stop at a few ports which was disappointing but when I got home 1Cover let me put in a claim for not stopping at those ports and I was reimbursed .

Great claim experience

I travelled to Bali in January for a nice break and unfortunately we got Bali Belly. This is the first time I have had to make a claim with 1Cover and it was a relatively smooth process. I received my payment within 5 days. I will definitely use again for my trip later in the year.

They will deny simple claims

Made a simple claim for lost travel documents and missed flights due to the lost documents. They made me jump through administrative hoops for 6 months with very long waits between replies. After which my claim got denied because my trip ended up being a couple days longer than planned. My claim was for events that occurred during the initial period of my trip for which I had purchased cover. They will use every trick in the book to deny your claim. Stay clear.

Wonderful Outcome Would use Again

I’m surprised reading all of the negative reviews of this company. I recently had a claim because of medical needs in Malaysia. Admittedly I was dubious as to the end result thinking they may try to avoid paying my medical bills even though I had sent through many pages listing what I had been charged in the hospital. To say I was amazed at the end result is an understatement as the amount claimed (minus the excess) was paid in less than 48 hours. Communication with them was professional and pleasant. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them and also use again.

1Cover bury you with clauses and unrealistic expectations!

Worst travel insurance company I have dealt with! My luggage bag was completely lost in Madrid and never found. The low cost airline based in Spain refused to pay compensation in any form but cheque to NZ and this form of payment not accepted in NZ. 1Cover would not cover any clothing item in my bag without a receipt. I provided bank statements, photos and receipts for about 30% of my clothes. I mean how can they expect people to keep receipts for clothes that they buy? IT IS UNREASONABLE! With depreciation I only received around $1000 for a bag that was packed for 6 weeks in Europe. They also did not pay for all the essential and clothes that I had to buy while stranded overseas without a bag.

Don't do it

These guys are pirates..Total 100% rip off - do not hand your money over to them as they are laughing all the way to the bank. Genuine loss incurred during period of cover and they gave me not 1, but 8 reasons and clauses why I'm not covered. Let that sink in - 8. Don't be sucked in.

BEWARE the fine print - don't expect to be covered for reasonable costs due to unforseen delays/cancellations

Missed connecting with our international flight due to a computer issue with a US domestic carrier, despite leaving 12hrs window for any unforeseen delays. Domestic carrier only refunded cost of their cancelled flight. Reasonable expectation that our 1Cover travel insurance would cover the additional $5K costs we had to pay to continue with our journey. BEWARE - 1Cover DO NOT COVER YOU for this sort of thing. So pretty much not worth the paper its written on. Will never use them again.

A our friend group had the same issue…

A our friend group had the same issue while travelling overseas. My friends got insurance with other companies and they got paid out quickly and my claim was denied. NEVER USE THIS INSURANCE COMPANY!!!

If I could give this company 0 stars I…

If I could give this company 0 stars I would. We booked travel insurance based off what we thought were good reviews - on reading through many of these people did not make claims. Just liked how easy to purchase a policy. Yes this is easy - but my god let’s hope you don’t need to claim ! We had comprehensive insurance for our overseas trip. Sadly we had an iPad and I-watch that was in our hand luggage break, and be rendered irreparable ( we think whilst on a seaplane) They will only pay $ 5 !!! They insisted on an insurance report ( costing nearly $200) . Showing our items could not be repaired. ( which we paid for and submitted) Asked for detailed ( excessive) documents including itinerary’s , receipts, statements of reported loss/damage even asked us to submit details of our bank accounts with statements. All supplied. Once lodged asked for ‘ more details of what happened’ more minute details …and again was submitted. Then !!! Your claim has been assessed - we will pay $5 Letter Advised iPads are apparently not covered and nor is your insurance report ( we can request what’s reasonable to assess a claim we will not be approving ) less your $200 excess. We now need to pay nearly $700 for a replacement iPad / and over $ 1000 for a replacement watch after already paying the insurance report…..($175) Their claim approved ( after depreciation) $ 5 ! !!! Never again will we use this company - we will make a complaint to the ombudsman. Thank god this wasn’t a medical claim - stay clear ! Go with a reputable company.
