The Good and the Bad
So far, I have purchased four different teas, a tea tray, and a glass tea set from Umi Tea Sets. What they did well: -The tea comes in adorable and sturdy cadies. I was not expecting it, so it was a nice surprise! -The Ginseng Oolong tea is really, really tasty. -The tea tray is beautiful, sturdy, and does not leak. I use it every day. -The Glass Tea Set arrived without a scratch or chip in any of the pieces. -I contacted their Support twice: one for a status update on an order and one because I accidently missed a piece of the tea set when unboxing it. Both times, Support got back to me quickly and was very professional. What could be improved: - Expect a long wait time between when you order vs when you get it. It may be due to the global shipping issues going on right now, but it can take over a month to get your order. So plan in advance when ordering! - So. Much. Packaging. Just unpacking the Tea Set filled an entire trash bag with plastic. I understand the need to package fragile things so heavily to ensure it won't break during transit, but I would like to see more eco-friendly packaging in the future, or at least less plastic. - The Glass Teapot seems to be made of thinner glass than the rest of the Tea Set, and feels a lot more fragile. I'm worried I'm going to break it! - The Glass Teapot came covered in some kind of dust. Weirdly, it was the only piece that seemed dusty. Easy enough to clean, but just kind of strange. - As some reviews pointed out, a lot of the reviews for this site and their products seem similar and come off as fake. I don't disagree, and I'm sure there are a number of fake reviews, but despite that I took a risk and got some lovely items from the store. I think it might be a good idea for them to go through and double check that the reviews on their website are legit. - Their product tracking is horrible and doesn't really track anything. I had no idea when my items were suppose to show, so it was surprise when they were delivered. Overall, I absolutely will order from them again. I like their products, but they do have some things they can improve on. I look forward to ordering more tea from them soon~
