RIP OFF
My children bought me a virgin experience voucher for my 60th Birthday; Marco Pierre White Steak House Company, Middlesex Street and theatre tickets. We arrived for the experience on 27th March 2025, quite excited and looking forward to a beautiful meal and the whole experience. We arrived and went through the front doors, which is where front of house was situated, we were left queuing with another a couple, in the way of people entering the restaurant, having to move here and there to get out of the way, not once did the the person behind the desk looked at us, give us eye contact, nothing in the way of an apology ... I will be with you in a moment, I do apologise for your wait, thank you for your patience, absolutely nothing, like I have said, she did not even look at us, completely ignored us. We were showed to our table, the tables were very close together and I had someone literally sitting right behind my right shoulder; it was very uncomfortable, it was quite dark where we were seated and we couldn't read the menu, the waiter proceeded to abruptly take the shade from the artificial candle and handled me the candle!!! We made out choices from the menu and ordered two courses, with 2 extra sides of fries and mushrooms (£8.50 ea per extra side). Our starters were brought to the table and I noticed I hadn't got a napkin; shouldn't someone have noticed that the table was set out properly. Our main meals arrived, we had to ask for our mushrooms, which had been ordered previously, they arrived a good 5 minutes later. Extra sides were quoted as being £8.50 each on the menu, on checking our bill after leaving the restaurant we noticed that they had charged us £12 for the fries, and they were awful. Our steak was very average, the peppercorn sauce; if you closed your eyes, you would not have guessed that that was what it was, no taste at all to be honest. We had 2 Irish coffees which were small and were £14 each. We paid £3 for a cover charge and 9.5% service charge. The meal was £55 (which was gifted; voucher) and we paid an extra £140 on the night. VERY, VERY DISAPPOINTING, AND TO BE HONEST A RIP OFF
