Great concept, poor quality item.
I really liked the concept of a custom tartan watch band and it was an ideal gift for a family member, unfortunately I was disappointed in the quality of the item received. There didn’t seem to be any effort made in the placement of the tartan, so the band is mostly just one solid color with a little of the contrasting stripes of color nearly cut off on the edge. It doesn’t seem like it would have been difficult to center the pattern to better show the different colors of the tartan. The watch band is definitely machine stitched, the stitches are a bit wonky in places and with the contrasting blue stitching they use it’s pretty noticeable. The edges of the leather aren’t finished, just cut, so I see the potential for it to irritate the skin of the wearer pretty quickly. The shipping took some time, which is fair given it’s a custom item and shipped internationally, but it was pretty disappointing to see the final product after so much time waiting. Again, it was a gift so it was wrapped when it arrived (standard wrapping, thin paper and a tiny drug store bow, don’t expect quality wrapping paper and a satin bow) and I didn’t get to see it until the recipient unwrapped it. It was an anticlimactic moment, “oh, what a neat…concept.” I was a little embarrassed but he did appreciate the thought. I love that it’s a small business and the idea of getting to use our family tartan, but it’s not worth the price paid for what you actually get and I won’t shop there again. I wish them well, they could be a really great gift supplier if there were improvements.
