Corporately Sponsored Disinformation
This site and company is a classical definition of a media company, created and sponsored by ATT, which has a vested interest in promoting a political agenda over the unbiased and truthful reporting of news. OANN has also promoted right-wing conspiracies such as the Seth Rich Murder and that there was no evidence of chemical attacks in Syria. Further, during the Coronavirus outbreak of 2020 they have frequently promoted medical misinformation. Additionally, far-right commentator Jack Posobiec is a current host on One America News Network (OANN), who has collaborated with white supremacists, neo-fascists and antisemites for years, while producing propaganda that Trump and his inner circle have publicly celebrated. OANN has promoted false stories about the 2020 election (“serious doubts about who’s actually president,”) and one host blamed “anti-Trump extremists” for the 01.06 attack on the US Capitol, which is false. Dominion Software, the manufacturer of voting software, filed and won lawsuits against OANN for their prolific role in promoting political disinformation which they estimate has cost them well over 1 billion USD. Even in the early hours after news of Dominion's lawsuit was first reported, OANN carried most of Lindell’s “cyber symposium” live, including a five-minute clip alleging “indisputable evidence” that Dominion is a “treasonous” cog in the plot by “foreign adversaries” to steal the 2020 presidential election and conquer the world – yet another completely false report promoted by this organization.
