DO NOT USE TRAVEL INSURANCE DIRECT
I have been on business travel almost for the whole of 2015 so far. I had taken travel insurance policies with Travel Insurance Direct four times and extended the cover few more times. I had cover from TID almost 90% of 2015 so far. I needed assistance during two trips, once when my spectacles glasses were broken and my checked in luggage was cracked and then recently my flight from Singapore to Brisbane was cancelled by Jetstar. In both occasions the staff and the TID were of least help and refused to assist. To claim for my glasses and suitcase I needed to provide proof of ownership which is difficult to produce. It is also not about the amount of money but the willingness to assist in need was not present. I will be travelling again in 10 days and will not be taking any more policies with TID. I will be reverting to my previous insurer QBE through Qantas Insurance.
