!!! THINK TWICE BEFORE USING !!!
My elderly mother, who lives alone, decided to fix her toilet due to a minor, continuous run-on. She also requested to replace the seat on another toilet. Initially, the plumber inspected the toilet and informed her that it could not be repaired and needed to be entirely replaced. A quote was provided, agreed upon, and the work began. The toilet was removed from the property, and this is when the problems started. The plumber then claimed additional issues due to the toilet's age, requiring more extensive work. A second quote was presented, and my mother was pressured into agreeing, as she was told there were no alternatives since the toilet had already been removed. Directly from their website regarding fixed pricing: "Quotes are reliable because you know you’ll pay the same every day of the week. The best plumbers do not set an inflated hourly rate after hours or on public holidays. Therefore, you can rest assured that you are set to benefit from fixed pricing and no rough estimate." In my mother's experience, these guarantees of fixed pricing are absolutely false. The final bill was just shy of $5,000, which included a staggering $990 to replace the toilet seat. When we contacted their customer service team to request copies of all documentation, none of the requested documents were provided. We ended up with four job numbers and four invoices with alternating descriptions for the parts and services. After reviewing their standard terms and conditions, we specifically requested credit notes to avoid any issues with debt collection for each of the incorrectly processed invoices. Still waiting! Metropolitan Plumbing prey on the vulnerable, disregard guarantees, and overcharges. Anyone thinking of using their services should think twice!!!
