I picked up a few of The Skinny Food…

I picked up a few of The Skinny Food Co’s Barista Shot syrups mainly out of curiosity—not because I’m watching calories, just because I love flavoured coffee and thought they’d be a fun way to mix things up. First Impressions: The bottles are small (60ml), but they pack in around 30 servings each. I grabbed Salted Caramel, French Vanilla, and Hazelnut. The packaging is convenient—no mess, easy squeeze, and you can even take them with you if you want to flavour coffee at work or on the go. Taste: This is where things were a bit of a mixed bag. • Salted Caramel was the clear winner for me. Sweet, smooth, and not overpowering. It blended nicely into both hot and iced coffee, and it added a bit of that dessert café vibe I was after. • French Vanilla was decent—very sweet, a little artificial—but not bad at all if you’re into that “vanilla latte” feel. It works better in hot drinks than iced, in my opinion. • Hazelnut was just fine for experiment, but I didn’t love it. It smelled amazing though. Sweetness & Texture: They’re definitely sweet—probably sweeter than most people would expect, considering there’s no sugar. If you like your drinks lightly flavored, you might want to use less than the suggested serving. Texture-wise, they’re watery rather than syrupy, but they mix easily. Is it worth it if you’re not dieting? Surprisingly, yeah. If you enjoy flavored drinks and want something fun and portable, they’re a cool addition to your coffee routine. The fact that they’re sugar-free is just a bonus—but I wouldn’t pick them because of that. For me, it’s all about the flavor and convenience. Bottom Line: If you’re just in it for taste (like I was), try Salted Caramel or French Vanilla. Skip the more “novelty” flavors unless you’re really into experimenting. They’re not café-quality syrups, but they’re fun, easy, and surprisingly enjoyable—especially for the price.
