I had a flat tire with the rental van…
I had a flat tire with the rental van and called in to report it three days before returning the van. On the phone the only thing mentioned was that I didn't have complete coverage and would have to replace it, which I did. On returning the vehicle I waited in line (I was the only customer) while 3 employees visiting and another (the supervisor) telling me someone would be with me shortly. Ten minutes later he helped me (3 other employees standing around, poor customer service). I mentioned about the flat tire, thinking it would be on my file since I called in, but it was not and then informed me that I needed to fill out an accident report. He also informed me that I was three hours late and would be charged a late fee (I understood that it was an 8 day rental). I did everything I was supposed to do including calling in and reporting the flat tire, calling my AAA account to put on the spare and get a recommendation of the best place to get a new tire which I paid for ($126). I travel quite a bit and this was the first time I have used AVR. The poor customer service and the supervisor not really knowing what to do and making me fill out an accident report when there was no accident or damage was a waste of time when traveling. I will not rent or recommend this company to any other travelers.
