Nothing after 3 months Review: I signed up to Tomato Agile Fixed TP October 2024-V1-Tariff, a half-hourly fixed-rate plan. For the first two months (Nov-Dec), my bills were correct and matched the exact half-hourly prices stated in my contract. But from Jan to April, they started charging me using a different pricing method — higher and completely unrelated to what was agreed. I made clear Excel comparisons and showed I was overcharged by over £260. When I asked why the first two months matched the contract, they replied that those months were “underbilled” and should have been more — even though they were based exactly on the contract. To make it worse, they told me that “Smile” and “Agile” are the same tariff. But “Smile” is not mentioned anywhere in my signed contract. This is misleading. It seems they used one name in the contract and now apply a different one, with changed pricing — without notice or consent. After not issuing bills for 4 months, I myself asked for them, they suddenly withdrew £450-500 from my account — even though I told them I couldn’t pay such a large sum all at once. I have now cancelled their Direct Debit access. If they cannot prove my bills are based on the half-hourly rates in my signed contract, I will be filing a formal complaint with the Energy Ombudsman. This experience has been financially and emotionally exhausting. I strongly advise others to review their bills carefully and request full written breakdowns.
