Terrible customer service and exhausting refund process
I had a genuinely faulty pair of trainers that were clearly not fit for purpose — worn less than five times before falling apart. Despite the manufacturer (Puma) accepting the issue under warranty, Start Fitness repeatedly refused to issue a refund, offering only a gift card or replacement I didn’t want. It took weeks of back-and-forth, escalating the issue, and involving card issuer I finally received a refund — and even then, no courtesy email, no apology, no confirmation that it was being processed. Just a vague notification after all the stress. They contradicted themselves in emails — admitting minimal wear, but claiming it was “normal wear and tear.” I’ve never experienced such poor customer service and lack of accountability. I will not be shopping here again, and I’d advise others to be cautious — especially if you think you might ever need to return something.
