Fraudulent Loan
In October last year, I was unfortunately the victim of cybercrime which lead to my identity being stolen. My bank accounts and emails were breached, as well as my phone number. Whoever it was took out a loan with Oakbrook Finance for £1500, which was deposited into my bank and flagged as fraudulent. My bank froze my account and sent the money back to Oakbrook within 24 hours. I've had the confirmation from 3 different agents at the bank that the money was sent back with dates and a reference number, and yet Oakbrook are claiming they have never received said money and are now chasing me for the amount (despite me providing them with screenshots of my bank statements and multiple crime numbers). However, the last agent at Oakbrook I spoke to on the phone said "I can see the amount was paid in full", and then backtracked and said he will look into it with his payments department. I was told "we will investigate and get back to you in 5 working days." 3 weeks later, I am still yet to receive said call, but they are quick enough to send me letters every few days demanding payment! Absolutely appalled that it has taken this much of a battle for over 6 months now and we are still no closer to a resolution.
