Unable to set up a controlled load and questionable practicies
Did not understand my query to have a controlled load installed at our house. The query was supposed to begin the process of applying for a second metre installation with the energy network. However after multiple attempts at explaining my request to the support technician, they told me that they completely understood me and would personally handle the request and respond by email. However, no response came. I followed up a week later and the technician then offered to apply a controlled load tariff to my account - not have a controlled load installed. I decided to give up and churn to an energy provider who has a better understanding of Australian distribution networks. But I didn't churn immediately because CovaU had competitive rates for my usage patterns, but in August this year the rates had an astronomical increase, making CovaU one of the worst value providers available on my network. Also, furthermore support technicians emailed me a link to Trustpilot and asked me to leave a 5 star review. I feel bad leaving a 1 star review because I get the feeling their employment may rest on positive review metrics, but I can't recommend CovaU in good conscious knowing they struggle to understand their role in Australian energy distribution and expensive rates.
