Disappointing
I had an extremely frustrating experience with my remortgage process. The bank issued an offer on **5th September**, and their tracker shows all checks are completed. However, when I called, I was told they were waiting on an ID check for one person, which would take **4-5 days**. This was communicated to me on **10th September**. After a few days, I called again, only to be told they needed more time. It’s now been **20 days** and they still haven’t managed to complete a simple ID check on a British passport holder. This is for a straightforward mortgage, yet the process is dragging on unnecessarily. Every time I call, the operators have no updates, and all I hear is that the issue has been “escalated.” It's been escalated since last week, but there's still no progress. The service has been incredibly poor. I’m now raising this issue with my mortgage provider, and if things don’t improve, I’ll be switching to a different lender. Mortgage providers should reconsider working with this company, as the service has been shockingly bad. I would strongly recommend avoiding them if possible.
